Alan has a passion for exercise and cycling. While using his indoor stationary bike, he would see himself riding through the fields and beaches near his home. So he set about to combine his passions. The result is the Parnham Trike, a tricycle where the single drive wheel is powered by both leg action and arm action. The pedal cranks may be driven by legs or by a pair of levers linked to the cranks for arm power. This allowed him to get his full workout as well as enjoy ourdoor cycling. Alan also enjoyed riding on the beach with friends, but wanted more flexibility and power in the sand. So he set about designing his 'IN' TANDEM Mountain Bike. Frustrated by the size and weight of a traditional tandem, he shortened the frame so that it would fit on the standard car cycle rack. Putting the leg power directly to both wheels also improved traction in the sand and hilly trails. Use the button above to see more about the 'IN' TANDEM Mountain Bike.
When riding on the beach alone, he also desired the improved flexibility and power in the sand. So he set about designing his Parnham SUPERBIKE. Front and rear wheel propulsion is great for soft ground situations, such as sand on the beach, as both front and rear wheels provide propulsion..
